Servers and industrial electronics will begin to be produced in Uzbekistan. The cost of projects is more than 2 billion dollars

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A portfolio of 157 projects with a total value of $2.1 billion has been formed in the electrical industry of Uzbekistan. Among them is the production of servers, industrial electronics, air conditioners, solar panels, instrumentation and automation, as well as smart cards.

The implementation of the projects will create 14.5 thousand new jobs. This was discussed at the President’s presentation of measures to further develop the electrical industry and increase the industry’s export potential.

It was noted that significant untapped opportunities remain in the area. In particular, the tasks of increasing the share of products with high added value, advanced processing of copper and diversification of exports remain relevant. Currently, only about 60% of copper exports are high value-added goods.

At the presentation, proposals for deep processing of raw materials and further support for domestic producers were considered. In particular, tax and customs benefits, a discount on the purchase of raw materials, as well as compensation by the state for part of the interest rate on loans exceeding 5% are provided.

It was noted that, along with the production of traditional products, high-tech areas - electronics and the semiconductor industry - should be more actively developed. According to forecasts, in the coming years, copper production in the country will reach 250 thousand tons, and by 2030 it will grow to 500 thousand. The growth in volumes will provide the raw material basis for new industrial projects.

The activities of electrical regional technology parks were also reviewed, and the expansion of opportunities for promoting domestic products to international markets was noted. The Uzbek Standards Institute has been accepted as a member of the International Electrotechnical Commission assessment scheme, which ensures the recognition of certificates of Uzbek manufacturers in 53 countries around the world.

In addition, the Technical Regulation Agency, together with European partners, is establishing a conformity assessment system. This will make it possible to assign a CE mark to Uzbek goods, confirming compliance with the requirements of the European Union, which will open up the opportunity to at least double exports to European markets.

The head of state gave specific instructions to accelerate the implementation of planned measures and projects, maintain export growth rates and develop new foreign markets.
