A new copper processing cluster is planned to be established in Khorezm.

In the region, a gas-chemical complex will also be launched, and polymer production will be increased.

As previously reported by Spot, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Khorezm region. He announced the start of production of "cheap minivans" at the local UzAuto Motors plant.

This year, it is planned to achieve a growth of at least 6% in the gross regional product, reaching 60 trillion sums. Production volume should increase by 6.5%, trade and services by 15%, and the goal is to employ 265,000 people and lift 104,000 people out of poverty.

The investment tasks for the year include launching 12 large and 480 local projects worth $900 million. It is planned to attract $1.5 billion from investors, launch the production of 65 types of products (including 5 types of equipment), and increase exports to $510 million.

The development of furniture enterprises in the region was also noted, which produced products worth almost 300 billion sums in 2024. In 9 mahallas specializing in furniture, 2,000 people were employed. A 10-hectare industrial zone for furniture manufacturers has started operating in Khanka.

To support the industry, it has been ordered to organize a centralized supply of timber and wooden materials from abroad. A system of contacts will be established between furniture workshops, developers, and new homeowners.

In Kushkupir, an Uzbek-Chinese technology park of 175 hectares is being created, where 16 projects worth $1 billion will be located. The president pointed out the need to utilize the opportunities of the Khazarasp free economic zone, which spans 250 hectares, most of which is currently unused despite all the available conditions.

Another priority direction will be the creation of a copper processing cluster in Khorezm, similar to the one in Ahangaran. The region's proximity to Turkey and Europe makes it convenient for placing export-oriented production facilities.

The chemical industry will also become a driving sector for the region. A gas-chemical complex for methanol to olefins is being built in Tuproqqala, which will annually produce 14 types of polymer products with a total volume of 2 million tons. In Khazarasp, a $100 million chemical technology park for polymer production will appear.

The president also focused on the production of building materials, which exceeded 1.1 trillion sums last year. The task is to launch another 40 projects worth $100 million to increase the figure to 1.5 trillion sums.

Earlier, Spot reported on plans to launch investment projects worth $5.7 billion in the Andijan region.
