Uzbekistan and Kuwait sign agreements on cooperation in industry and labor sphere

The parties intend to cooperate in the field of creating "smart" cities, agriculture, energy and healthcare.

As previously reported by Spot, during the official visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal al-Sabah.

Following the talks held in Kuwait City, the heads of state of both countries adopted a joint statement on the development of Uzbek-Kuwaiti relations of comprehensive partnership.

The parties also signed the following documents:
  • Agreement on cooperation in the field of industry;
  • Protocol to the agreement on air traffic;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the labor sphere;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the field of creating "smart" cities;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the field of art and culture;
  • Agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare;
  • A program of events in the field of tourism for 2025-2027;
  • Agreement on cooperation with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
In addition, the leaders of the countries agreed to create an Uzbek-Kuwaiti investment platform and a business council. It is planned to open a trading house of Uzbekistan in Kuwait.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and members of the Kuwaiti government considered the issues of practical implementation of the agreements reached following the high-level talks held today. The development of trade, economic and investment ties was identified as a priority task.

During the talks, the importance of supporting and promoting projects in such sectors as agriculture, logistics and transport, hydropower, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and others was noted. An agreement was also reached on organizing active contacts and mutual visits to promote joint programs and cooperation projects included in the roadmap.

Earlier, Spot wrote that the number of companies with investments from China increased by 110 in a month.
