The President launched the construction of new facilities in Karakalpakstan worth over $1.5 billion

New wind power plants and industrial enterprises will be built in three districts of the republic.

According to the presidential press service, in order to ensure stability in the transmission of electricity, three electricity storage systems with a total capacity of 400 megawatts will be built in the Kungrad, Beruniy and Karauzyak districts.
The construction of several of these projects begins today. The first is a wind power plant with a capacity of 1 gigawatt worth $1.2 billion, which will be built by the Chinese company Sany Renewable in the Kungrad district.
The second is a wind power plant with a capacity of 200 megawatts with a storage system for 100 megawatts of electricity worth $250 million. It will be created jointly with the Saudi company ACWA Power in the Beruniy and Karauzyak districts.
In the future, they will generate 4 billion 200 million kilowatt-hours of "green" energy per year, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of 1 million 750 thousand households. As a result, about 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be saved, and the volume of emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced by almost 2 million tons.
At the same time, construction of enterprises for the production of parts, racks and blades of wind turbines is beginning in the Kungrad district. As a result, the production of parts of wind turbines with a capacity of 1 thousand megawatts and 120 racks per year will be localized, import-substituting products for $ 100 million will be manufactured.
In addition, in the Nukus district, due to investments in the amount of $ 24 million, the production of 20 million heating radiators per year will be established.
It is also noted that these days 12 projects worth $ 62 million are being launched in industry, agriculture, tourism and the service sector. Two of them were opened at the ceremony: large shopping centers in the Beruniysky district and the city of Nukus.
The head of state pressed a symbolic button and gave the start to the construction and operation of new facilities.
