Industrial parks, power plants and storage systems. The President launched nine projects in the Tashkent region

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – ​​Podrobno.uz news agency. The President launched the construction and operation of nine new projects. Their total cost is 2 billion dollars, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.

The launch ceremony took place on October 14 in Yangiyul district.

A special industrial technopark "Great Silk Road" will be built in the city of Almalyk on an area of ​​227 hectares. It will produce goods worth 5 trillion soums per year. The product range will cover such areas as electrical engineering, textiles, building materials, and pharmaceuticals. A foreign investor will invest 1 billion dollars in the project.

A textile industrial park worth 350 million dollars will be created in the Yukorichirchik district on an area of ​​69 hectares. It will house more than 20 enterprises producing yarn, dyed fabric, and finished textile products.

In Yangiyul district, enterprises for the production of 50 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers and chemicals per year are being commissioned, in Kibray - enterprises for the production of high-quality export-oriented food products.

Three projects in the energy sector, which will be implemented with the participation of leading Chinese companies, are of great importance.

A solar power plant worth 240 million dollars will be built in Bukinsky district. This station will generate 576 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which is enough to supply 240 thousand households.

Two more projects are energy storage systems with a capacity of 200 megawatts worth 220 million dollars, which will be built in Parkent and Pskent districts. They will avoid outages during peak hours and reliably provide consumers with electricity.

Tashkent region also has great hydropower potential. Currently, there are 25 hydroelectric power plants in the region with a total capacity of 1.3 thousand megawatts - 60% of the total hydroelectric capacity of the republic.

Currently, four more hydroelectric power plants worth $880 million and with a capacity of 340 megawatts are being built in the region. Also, 23 projects with a total capacity of about 2.4 thousand megawatts worth $4.8 billion will be implemented here by 2028.

During today's ceremony, two small hydroelectric power plants were commissioned - in the Akhangaran district with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts and in the Bostanlyk district with a capacity of 1.5 megawatts. These capacities will generate 18.4 million kilowatt-hours of green energy per year and provide electricity to 7.6 thousand households.
