Uzbekistan`s GDP increased by 8.5%

At the end of the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan’s GDP amounted to 1.07 quadrillion soums ($89.85 billion), showing a real increase of 8.5%. About this reported press service of the National Statistics Committee.

The economic recovery accelerated compared to last year, becoming the fastest since the first half of 2022. The deflator index stopped at 109.8%.

Gross value added by industries added 8.5%, accounting for the bulk of the overall increase. The remaining share was formed by net taxes on products, which increased by 8.3%.

The main driver was industry, which added 2 percentage points to the overall figure. Trade, hotel and restaurant business accounted for 1.8 p.p., transport, logistics and communications - 1.5 p.p., other types of services - 1.1 p.p., construction sector - 1 p.p., and the agricultural sector - 0.7 p.p.

The total value of industrial products amounted to 272.6 trillion soums. The main growth factor was the manufacturing sector, which showed a plus of 8.8%. The mining sector by 2.1%, the energy and gas supply sector by 7.9%, and the water supply and waste treatment sector by 15.9%.

Constructiondemonstrated high dynamics, increasing by 13.7% and reaching 79.1 trillion soums. The construction of civil facilities increased by 21.5%, specialized work by 39.8%, and the construction of buildings and structures by 8.5%.

Volume providedservicesrose by 9.2%, amounting to 521.5 trillion soums. The best results were noted in the field of IT and communications (23.2%), logistics (15.8%) and trade (15%). Hotel services and catering added 10.8%.

Agriculture, forestry and fisheriesin total increased by 4.7%. The main increase was provided by fishing (35.8%) and forestry (6.3%).

Minor changes were recorded in the structure of the economy. The industrial sector increased its share to 26.5%, while the contribution of the service sector dropped to 50.8%, and the agricultural sector to 15%. The share of construction remained unchanged at 7.7%.

In recalculation for each resident of the country, the production volume amounted to 27.95 million soums. Over the year, this indicator increased by 6.6%, which is the maximum value since 2022.
