US$105 Million Tourism Centre Under Construction in Bukhara

On 3 November, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the construction of a new tourism centre in Bukhara. The 50-hectare complex will cost US$105 million.

The site will include a reception house, an exhibition hall, a museum, two hotels, 80 family guesthouses, a 2,000-seat amphitheatre, more than 70 retail and service outlets, promenades, crafts centres and an artificial lake. The architecture will combine Bukhara’s building traditions with modern design.

The centre will connect the city’s historical and culinary heritage with modern services and will host major international cultural and business events. Engineering networks are currently being laid on 10 hectares of the site.

Once fully operational, the project will create about 2,000 jobs, increase tourist flow to Bukhara by 2 million people and generate around 288 billion soums a year for the local budget.
