The President launched the construction of the Center for Future Technologies and IT parks in Nurafshan and Chirchik

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Cyber ​​University in Nurafshan on Wednesday and launched the construction of the Center for Future Technologies next to the university. About this reported press service of the head of state.

State University under the Ministry of Digital Technologies,founded by presidential decree last year, it trains specialists for the fields of information and cyber security, artificial intelligence and robotics, cyber law, digital forensics and cyber economics.

Today the university has 2 faculties and 4 departments. About 1,000 students study here in 8 undergraduate and 2 graduate areas.

In a conversation with students, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the country cannot develop successfully if every industry and every region does not keep up with digital technologies.

At the ceremony of laying the first stone for the construction of the Center for Future Technologies, the president repeated: “It is impossible to develop without seriously engaging in the digitalization of all spheres of our life. We must all be deeply aware that without this we have no future.”

About $500 million in investments will be attracted for the construction of the center with a total area of ​​36 hectares. It will become a unified innovation ecosystem combining education, scientific research, technological testing and production processes, the statement said.

The center will have 6 laboratories in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and cryptography.

In addition, an artificial intelligence data center and an engineering cluster, a center for the production of secure computers, data transmission equipment and high-tech tokens will be created.

A special testing ground is being organized for testing unmanned aerial vehicles and robotics.

With the assistance of the Asian Development Bank, a platform will be created for the commercialization of domestic technologies and the promotion of national products to international markets. To provide projects with a stable power supply, 5 megawatts of capacity will be built.

It is planned to attract the world`s leading companies, universities and scientists to the center, as well as to create a modern social, cultural and everyday infrastructure for students and employees.

It is expected that over 5,000 highly skilled jobs will be created here, and the center will become a powerful incentive for the development of the digital economy of the region.

In addition, the ceremony launched the construction of IT parks in Nurafshan and Chirchik, as well as 9 new projects worth $465 million, which will be implemented with the participation of Russian, Chinese and German companies.
